Michael Ketterer appeared on “Inside Studio G: A Monday Night Conversation with Garth Brooks
He was joined via video by the “America’s Got Talent” finalist, who thought he was coming on to announce their song collaboration, but was in for a huge surprise when Brooks invited Ketterer to join him on stage at Notre Dame to perform it live together. Tickets for Garth’s show, the first-ever concert event held at this venue, went on sale last Friday and sold out nearly 85,000 tickets. Michael will perform the song for the first time, solo, during “America’s Got Talent” on Wednesday.
This announcement comes after a recent episode of “America’s Got Talent,” when judge Simon Cowell called on Brooks and asked him to write a finale song for contestant Michael Ketterer. Brooks revealed last week that he had connected with singer, and Ketterer joined him via video chat during ‘Studio G’ and the two revealed that they did in fact write a finale song together that Ketterer will perform the song on the show. Brooks will not join him to perform on the show as he revealed that it is Trisha’s birthday so he’s already booked.
Ketterer stated that when creating the song, and how important it was for the message to show his young sons what it’s like to be a man in the world today. Brooks told everyone that the thing that Ketterer valued above all in the process was family and that he is a guy that’s “real.
The two night finale of “America’s Got Talent’ airs on Tuesday, September 18 and Wednesday, September 19 on NBC.
