Jerry Springer is heading back to Daytime TV, only this time he’ll be settling disagreements with a robe and a gavel. The former Mayor of Cincinnati and host of America’s Got Talent is launching his own daytime courtroom show, “Judge Jerry.”
The new syndicated court show will premiere next fall from NBCUniversal Television. “The Jerry Springer Show” stopped production earlier this year.
“For the first time in my life, I am going to be called honorable,” Springer said in a statement. “My career is coming full circle and I finally get to put my law degree to use after all these years.”
The new program will be a traditional daytime court show, in which Springer will preside over real cases from real people, and “render a verdict with a fair yet firm hand and always leave litigants with a dose of classic Springer wisdom.” Producers for the new series have not yet been revealed.
