Broadway star and composer Lin-Manuel Miranda received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
The star is in a fitting location in front of the Pantages Theatre.
“Lin-Manuel Miranda has made history with history! He has brilliantly made the show Hamilton a musical learning experience for young and old. He constantly displays the charisma with and talent we all want to see on the stage forever,” stated Ana Martinez, Producer of Hollywood Walk of Fame. “We are proud that Lin-Manuel Miranda star will add to our Hollywood history!”
On hand to help celebrate Miranda’s star were “Weird Al” Yankovic and Rita Moreno.
Lin-Manuel co-stars with Emily Blunt in the upcoming “Mary Poppins Returns,” an all-new original musical and sequel. The film will be released on December 19th, by Walt Disney Studios.
Miranda is gearing up to reprise his role as the “ten-dollar founding father” in the Puerto Rican production of Hamilton in January 2019.
Miranda also wrote songs from Disney’s 2016 animated hit, “Moana,” and will also bring his musical “In The Heights, onto the big screen next year.
The Tony, Grammy, Emmy, and Pulitzer Prize winner acknowledged his fans, a thousand plus actually attended the Friday morning ceremony and came from miles away to attend.
“I feel like I’m in a dream,” Miranda said during the ceremony unveiling his Walk of Fame star. “Reports of my fame are still probably greatly exaggerated but the fact that there is a star marking where I got to say these lines [referring to his performance of ‘In The Heights’ at the Pantages Theatre], I can’t tell you what a dream come true that is for me.”
