There is a new drama on ABC. The show “Grand Hotel” will premiere on Monday, June 17. “Grand Hotel” is set at the last family owned hotel in Miami Beach, Florida. The hotel is run by Santiago Mendoza (Demián Bichir). He has two children, daughter Alicia (Denyse Tontz) son Javi (Bryan Craig). He is now married to his late wife’s best friend Gigi (Roselyn Sanchez). She has two daughters twins Carolina (Feliz Ramirez) and Yoli (Justina Adorno). Rounding out the cast are Mateo (Shalim Ortiz), Mrs. P (Wendy Raquel Robinson) and Danny (Lincoln Younes) hotel employees. The Riviera Grand Hotel appears to be a great luxury hotel ran by great people. However, there are staff secrets and hotel secrets that kick off when a line cook, Sky (Arielle Kebbel) disappeared under mysterious circumstances during a recent hurricane. Eva Longoria is the executive producer, and guest stars and directs a few of the episodes.

TVMusic Network and other reporters caught up with two of the show’s stars, Denyse Tonz (Alicia) and Lincoln Younes (Danny) at the ABC Summer Press Junket. Check out what they had to say about their characters.

So what can you guys say about Danny and Alicia’s relationship from the pilot?

Lincoln Younes: “Oh, from here, we can we go a number of directions, but hopefully towards the positive, coming together. But I guess as you can see from the pilot that they each have their own motivations of why the are at the hotel.”

Denyse Tonz: “At least yes. The main goal throughout the show is, or at least at the beginning, is to prove herself. She’s just finished graduated from business school. Then you sort of step into her mother’s shoes a little bit. She has a lot of pressure from everyone, to sort of fill that role and keep the family together. And I think it’s really tough to have yourself a little …desire to explore a romance with this person.”

Lincoln Younes: “Yeah. And I think with Danny, it’s kind of unknown as to why he is at the hotel.  He comes in as a new employee, but there was something off, he picks up on. Whatever his mission is, the intention, it’s complicated by the arrival of Alicia and the chemistry that kind of ensues between them. I think that’s kind of the interesting thing to watch them navigate their priorities and the initial motivations with, I guess, the inevitable chemistry and a dynamic that has appeared.”

“Grand Hotel” premieres Monday, June 17 at 10:00 p.m. ET/PT on ABC.
