Executive Producer Stephen Curry, Alongside Commentators Rob Riggle, Joe Tessitore, and Sideline Correspondent, “The Real” co-host Jeannie Mai Kick Off the ‘Holey Moley’ Competition.
Mai describes the show as a little bit “America Ninja Warrior” meets Happy “Gilmore.”
“Holey Moley” is the funnest, and yes, I’m using that word, craziest most extreme miniature golf experience that you will ever experience,” says Mai. “It was the coolest job ever had as a sideline correspondent. Steph Curry was the executive producer and there I was for 10 episodes watching some of the miniature golf’s most creative fanatics from around the world and the U.S. compete head-to-head for $25, 000 all while trying to avoid being hit by a windmill or by a monstrous polar bear that keeping them from being able to reach their hole. It’s insane.”
Contestants featured in this episode include the following:
Julia Lew – South Pasadena, CA
Jared Gustavsen – Oceanside, CA
Hailey Hunter – Muskegon, MI
Lauren Olaya – Wichita Falls, TX
Holly Fine – Riverside, CA
Alex Mendoza – Claremont, CA
Shay Bennett – Fullerton, CA
Mariama Bonette – New York, NY
Scott Glauser – Santa Clara, UT
Bob Jensen – Oceanside, CA
“Every golf course has a crazy obstacle course that you need to complete while making your next golf hole.”
So did she do the course and can’t say enough about how cool they were.
“I did go through the obstacles because they were so cool,” says Mai. “There’s one [golf course] called the ‘Flip and Putt,’ it’s a huge glacier, that’scold and slippery in order to putt your ball, you need to climb your way to the top and get around a polar bear to play your putt. It’s so cool.”
Look for Steph Curry to join the contestants on the course as well as some familiar faces in the world of sports.
“We had celebrity guests every episode, and some of them were very intimidating,” Mai said. “There was one iconic person, I can’t say who it is, but I can’t believe I met this person. I watched them my whole life growing up. I kind of fangirled, but you want to be the sideline reporter who is calm and cool. But then you also have Steph Curry, who is also there swinging and putting. It was really cool how “Holey Moley” brought together such epic people for a family-friendly fun event.”
