TVMusic Network remembers actress Ja’Net DuBois who passed away at the age of 74. The actress was best known for her role as Willona in the 1970s Norman Lear comedy “Good Times.”
Set in the projects in Chicago, “Good Times” told the story of a family who wanted the best things for their family while living in the streets in Chicago. DuBois played the best door neighbor and best friend of the family in the series that ran from 1974 to 1980.
DuBois was also known for her soulful performance of “The Jefferson’s” theme song, “Moving on Up.”
DuBois was also one of the founding members of the Pan African Film and Arts Festival which is currently running in Los Angeles.
