In an “Idol” first, 10 finalists from last season will return to make their debut on the “American Idol” stage, where they will sing for America’s vote. After a week-long vote, only one will remain in the competition this season, rounding out the top 10. The “American Idol” comeback episode airs on ABC on Monday, April 19th.
On Sunday, April 18, the current Top 12 will compete in a real time coast to coast with real time voting. At the end of the episode the Top 9 will be announced.

Also returning to the show will be former judge Harry Connick Jr who will perform a medley of two songs from his new album. and former contestants Lauren Diagle who will also perform.
