‘Tulsa: The Fire and the Forgotten’ Coming to PBS

As the 100th anniversary of the Tulsa Race Massacre approaches, we wanted to share access to the new PBS 90-minute documentary, Tulsa: The Fire and the Forgotten, directed by Jonathan Silvers, and reported by The Washington Post’s DeNeen L.Brown. Premiering nationwide Monday, May 31 at 9 p.m. on PBS (check local listings), pbs.org and the PBS Video app, the documentary explores the 1921 tragedy, the history of anti-Black violence and Black resilience and uncovers the emotional truth behind one of the worst incidents of racial violence in American history.

As the country continues to reflect on more recent incidents of social injustice like the murder of George Floyd, this documentary examines this deadly assault on humanity on the 100th anniversary of the crime that took place from May 31-June 1, 1921
