Of the many accomplishments achieved by “Un Dia Normal.” highlights include a record-setting chart-run of 92 consecutive weeks in the Top-10 of Billboard’s Latin Albums chart, fueled by “A Dios Le Pido’s” 47 consecutive week run (mostly in the Top-5) on Billboard’s “Hot Latin Tracks” chart, and four additional multiplatinum singles to follow. This resulted in Un Dia Normal becoming the #1 Spanish-language album for all of 2003 in both sales and airplay, saw Juanes top six separate Billboard Year-end Latin charts (including #1 album, #1 singles artist, and #1 songwriter) and chosen for the cover of Billboard’s “Year In Music” special issue.
The album also garnered SIX of Juanes; now 25 Latin Grammy Awards, with a 2002 Best Rock Song for “A Dios Le Pido” and an astounding five for five SWEEP in 2003, garnering Album of the Year, Song Of The Year, Record of the Year, Rock Song of the Year, and Best Rock Solo Album. –marking the most Latin Grammy Awards won by an artist in a single year up to that point. The album’s success also launched Juanes into his first mainstream, English television shows in the United States, including his first of now several appearances on The Tonight Show, and significantly elevated his concert drawing power with his first headline appearance at Madison Square Garden, and setting an attendance record for a millennium stage appearance at Washington DC’s Kennedy Center, with a line stretching around the building.
