TVMusic Network Remembers Jerry Lee Lewis

TVMusic Network Remembers Jerry Lee Lewis. One of the last rock n’ roll pioneers Jerry Lee Lewis has passed away last week at the age of 87. Lewis, a Rock n’ Roll Hall of fame inductee, created the classic hits “Great Balls of Fire” and “Whole Lotta Shakin’ Goin’ On.” Overall, Lewis had more than 20 songs reach the Top 10 on the Billboard Country Charts.

Lewis’ scandalous personal life often overshadowed his music career with seven marriages including one to his cousin, Myra Gale Brown, who was 13 at the time.

Lewis was one of the pioneers of rock in the 50s along with Chuck Berry, Elvis Presley, and Johnny Cash and his performances at the piano influenced many who followed.

A biopic of his life at the time of his marriage to Myra, “Great Balls of Fire” starring Dennis Quaid as the “killer,” was released in 1989.
