Stephen “tWitch” Boss has passed away. Boss was the DJ and executive producer on The Ellen DeGeneres show. He was 40 years old.
Boss received his big break on the tv show “So You Think You Can Dance. Boss, who earned the nickname “tWitch” as a teenager dancing in his hometown of Montgomery, Alabama.
Boss first got a start in Hollywood as a contestant on “Star Search”. He finished as the runner-up. He was also a finalist on the show “The Wade Robson Project in 2003. He then went on to compete in the “So You Think You Can Dance”. He was a fan favorite and again finished as the runner-up in 2008.

He then joined the show as an all-star. There he met Allison Holker. The pro dancers were all-stars together on the sixth season of the show in 2010, and got together at the end of that year’s competition. The couple married in a Paso Robles, California, ceremony in 2013 and have three children. The Bosses co-hosted the series Disney’s Fairy Tale Weddings, as well as the holiday special Disney’s Fairy Tale Weddings: Holiday Magic.
Boss has also appeared in movies as an actor and dancer in Magic Mike XXL and several films in the Step-Up movie franchise.
Boss joined The Ellen DeGeneres Show as a guest DJ in 2014 and went on to be a co-executive producer in 2020 until their farewell in 2022. He also joined DeGeneres on her game show “Ellen’s Game of Games” which ran for three years.
TVMusic Network spoke with Boss weekly during his time as a judge on “So You Think You Can Dance. He was always so sweet and humble about his talents.
