Dubbed the “female Beatles” and discovered by legendary producer Richard Perry, the all-female rock and roll group, Fanny, from the early ’70s has fans including Todd Rundgren, John Sebastian, Bonnie Raitt, Katie Pearson, David Bowie, and more. The film gives the inside look at this band who added to the rock and roll scene back in the day – yet they are still one of rock’s unsung heroes. The group was put together by two Filipino American sisters in Sacramento, California.

Fanny went on to conquer the rock world and performed at the legendary Whisky A-Go-Go night club on the Sunset Strip in Los Angeles thus establishing their notoriety.

Fanny’s groundbreaking impact in music was written out of history… until bandmates reunite 50 years later with a new rock record deal. The movie has archival footage of the musicians Def Leppard’s Joe Elliott, Bonnie Raitt, The Go-Go’s Kathy Valentine, Todd Rundgren, The Runaways’ Cherie Currie, Lovin’ Spoonful’s John Sebastian, The B52’s Kate Pierson, Charles Neville and David Bowie guitarist and bassist Earl Slick and Gail Ann Dorsey.

This is a must-see movie to learn more about the group that influenced so many of the female rock musicians you see today.
