Gina Miles was announced as the champion of Season 23 of “The Voice.”The 19-year-old pop singer is from Sacramento, CA.
Coach Niall Horan is the fourth-ever coach to win in their first season, joining Adam Levine (Season 1), Kelly Clarkson (Season 14), and John Legend (Season 16).
Miles’ competition from the other finalists this season – including Sorelle from Team Chance, NOIVAS and Grace West from Team Blake, and D. Smooth from Team Kelly.
In her blind audition, Miles earned chair turns from coaches Horan and Clarkson with her cover of Katy Perry’s “The One That Got Away.” After a tough deliberation, Miles chose Horan as her coach. Her success continued into the Battle Rounds where she and teammate Kala Banham performed “Skinny Love” by Bon Iver. Horan named Miles the winner of the battle. Her rendition of Gotye’s “Somebody That I Used To Know” in the Knockouts advanced her to the top 20.
Miles came into the Live Rounds following a performance of Chris Isaak’s classic “Wicked Game” in the Playoffs. During the first Live Show, her performance of “All I Wanted” by Kodaline, earned her spot in the finale.
On Monday night’s telecast, Miles performed “Style” by Taylor Swift and “Nothing Compares 2 U” by Sinéad O’Connor.
On the finale, Miles was joined on stage by coach Niall Horan for a performance of Billy Joel’s anthemic “New York State of Mind.”
Miles’ performances accrued 25.1 million video views across “The Voice” Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, Twitter, and YouTube pages since the season premiere.
The Voice returns in the Fall.
