R&B Legend Charlie Wilson received a Star on Hollywood’s Walk of Fame today on what marked his 70th birthday. The solo singer and member of the soul group The Gap Band.
Joining emcee Jimmy Jam Harris were speakers President & CEO of P Music Group and manager, Michael Paran, and fellow Walk of Famers Babyface, and Snoop Dogg. Pharrell, who couldn’t make it to the live ceremony, sent a video message that was played for the crowd of family, friends, and fans.
In addition to Snoop. other friends who attended included Tank, Ty Dolla $ign, Chante Moore, Kanye West, Jimmy Jam, Johnny Gill, Babyface, Tyler, the Creator, Don Toliver, and Terry Lewis.
As part of The Gap Band, Wilson had a string of R&B hits – “You Dropped a Bomb on Me,” “Outstanding,” “Early in the Morning,” and solo hits “Charlie, Last Name Wilson,” and “There Goes My Baby.”
