Check out our conversation with series star Montana Jordan. The actor shared his thoughts about the spinoff series which explores his character Georgie and Georgie’s new wife and young child. The series is scheduled to begin production for the fall 2024 – 2025 season. “Young Sheldon” airs Thursdays on CBS. The finale episode of “Young Sheldon” will air May 16 for special back-to-back episodes.

TVMusic Network: Congratulations on the series. It’s lasted more than 100 episodes. how do you feel about being on the show that lasted so long?

Montana Jordan: I mean we’re wrapping up the seventh season right now. We’ve been a fan ever since the first season, ever since the first time we met. We’ve all a family and we’re still a family. So I’m more than blessed to be here and to work on a show like I’m working on.

TVMusic Network: You grew up with Georgie so how did you feel as an actor that the show helped you grow and also how has Georgie grown over the course of the series?

Montana Jordan: I think that that’s the main success of the show is being able to see all these different characters grow as people. There are so many people in this room that you see what these characters are going through. Thankfully the show has last so long that you can you know see the storylines of them getting over it and overcoming the problem. It helps people in real life too.

TVMusic Network: That’s amazing. Do you have any favorite moments from the series?

Montana Jordan: There’re so many favorite moments. I’d be I’d be doing it wrong if I just pick one. But yeah I’m telling you, it’s just whole like a family the whole time. It really is.

TVMusic Network: Well now you, well not you but should I say Georgie’s a married man now and with everything going on. That was a really, actually very funny and a really nice episode.

Montana Jordan: Did you like it?

TVMusic Network: Yeah, it was really great. How do you feel about working with, tell me about working with Annie [Potts, Meemaw]?

Montana Jordan: With Annie? You can’t get better than that. She’s so sweet, in real life on screen, it don’t matter. She’s so sweet I’m telling you. I’m about to have a baby right now, in real life. She was the first person that offered to babysit. She is the sweetest person you’ll ever meet.

TVMusic Network: Congratulations. You really need to take her up on that for sure. Do you think that any of your family members will come and visit you on the new series?

Montana Jordan: On the new series? I’d like to get a lot of them up, you know. I come from place where nobody knows this kind of stuff up. You know, working 9 to 5 there. But yeah, if I can get my dad up here. All my dad does is work so if I get him to take some time off and come up here that be pretty neat. So we’ll see what happens.

TVMusic Network: Was there anything you took from the set that will be on the new set?

Montana Jordan: No. I was going to try to get something from the laundry mat but they tore it all down. So I didn’t get anything.

TVMusic Network: Aww, not even a coin? Nothing?

Montana Jordan: I’m going to find something I promise.

TVMusic Network: That’s great. And then I have to ask about music. Is there anything that you’re listening to?

Montana Jordan: All I listen to is country. I’m an old hand. I listen to George Straight and Willie Nelson, all them. I listen to old country.

TVMusic Network: That’s great. Is there anything you learned from [executive producer] Chuck [Lorre] when you guys were talking about the new series? How did those conversations start about the new series?

Montana Jordan: Let me tell you how it happened. We got on a zoom call. That’s how they told us that we were ending “Young Sheldon. Five minutes later after that Zoom call right. They called me back, okay. There were like four people on the call 5 minutes later. That’s how they told me.

TVMusic Network: God, that’s awesome!

Montana Jordan: That’s how they told me.

TVMusic Network: Oh that is so great.

Montana Jordan: That’s how they told me. That’s literally how they told me.

TVMusic Network: I look forward to seeing [the new series]. It was nice to talk to you.

Montana Jordan: It was very nice to talk to you as well. Thank You. Take care. Good to see you.
