“American Idol” aired on Sunday, May 12th with the Top 5 contestants performing to make the final 3 contestants of the competition.
The Top 5 contestants were Jack Blocker, Emmy Russell, Abi Carter, Triston Harper, Will Mosley.
“American Idol” aired live coast -to- coast. The Top 5 traveled to Walt Disney World, The Most Magical Place on Earth, with guest mentor Kane Brown before performing two songs from the Disney Songbook.
Jenifer Lewis performed “Dig a Little Deeper” during the “American Idol” Disney Night episode. Terence Blanchard accompanied Jenifer on the trumpet. Opening this summer at Walt Disney World Resort and later this year at Disneyland Resort is Tiana’s Bayou Adventure inspired by the film, “The Princess and the Frog.”
The attraction’s story picks up where the film left off as guests will join Princess Tiana, Naveen, Mama Odie, jazz-loving alligator Louis and a brand-new cast of original characters on an adventure through the bayou as they prepare to host a one-of-a-kind celebration during Mardi Gras season.
Jenifer Lewis stars as Mama Odie in the film and also lends her voice to the attraction. Tiana’s Bayou Adventure will open in Florida on June 28. Terence Blanchard, a featured musician in Disney Animation’s “The Princess and the Frog” arranged and produced music in the attraction’s queue.
The star of “Frozen,” Idina Menzel was presented an award for “Let It Go.” The song become certified Diamond by the RIAA.
The two-hour show concluded with the result from America’s live votes for the Top 3 to head to the finale.
The two contestants with the lowest amount of votes were eliminated from the show. Tonight, the show said goodbye to Emmy Russell and Triston Harper.
The Top 3 contestants heading to the finale were Jack Blocker, Abi Carter and Will Mosley. They will participate in the season finale which will be mentored by Jon Bon Jovi.
