It was Decoy’s night on Wednesday, August 28 for the LA Dodgers as superstar Shohei Ohtani and his dog Decoy were featured for Bobblehead night. Thousands of fans gathered for the Dodger’s and Orioles game at Dodger Stadium to receive the bobblehead of Ohtani and his dog. Decoy even threw out the first pitch to Ohtani who was at home plate for the catch. Only the first 40,000 fans received the bobblehead to a sold-out crowd of 65,000 so fans lined-up as early as 7 am to get a chance for the bobblehead. There were also around 2,000 of the gold edition bobblehead.

Ohtani was surprised by the hoopla surrounding the promotion. “I was surprised as well when I came to the park with my family,” Ohtani said through interpreter Will Ireton, when asked about the long lines outside the stadium. “I wasn’t really aware of the situation. I thought it was some other special event going on.” Of Decoy’s big night, “It’s a really special night. I hope to buy some special snack for him.”
