From Max Mutchnick and David Kohan, the creators of the hit sitcom “Will & Grace,” comes “Mid-Century Modern” on streaming on Hulu. A modern-day sitcom in the vein of “The Golden Girls, where four retirees live in a house and spend their golden years together.

The show follows three best friends — gay gentlemen of a certain age – who, after an unexpected death, decide to spend their golden years living together in Palm Springs where the wealthiest one lives with his mother. As a chosen family, they prove that no matter how hard things get, there’s always someone around to remind you it would be better if you got your neck done.

“Mid-Century Modern” stars Nathan Lane as Bunny Schneiderman, Matt Bomer as Jerry Frank, Nathan Lee Graham as Arthur Broussard and the late Linda Lavin as Sybil Schneiderman, Bunny’s mother.

In the first episode entitled “Bye, George,” the friends who live in different parts of the country reunite at a friend’s funeral. The event causes them to reevaluate their lives and become roommates. Bunny’s mother Sybil lives there as well. “Golden Girls” anyone? Time will tell if the show becomes a must-see comedy classic like “Will & Grace” and “The Golden Girls.”

The series is from executive producers Max Mutchnick & David Kohan and executive producer Ryan Murphy. Stars Nathan Lane and Matt Bomer also executive produce the series, along with James Burrows, who also serves as director. 20th Television is the studio.
