PaleyFest LA 2025 concluded with an all-star panel with the casts of “Gilmore Girls,” “The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel,” and “Étoile,” for The Amy Sherman-Palladino Multiverse panel. Actresses Lauren Graham and Kelly Bishop reminisced about their experiences on “Gilmore Girls” and shared how several people approach them sharing how much the show means to them. Lauren shared that she thinks the show is still popular among people because of the complexity of the writing. While Kelly recalled that when she came across the script for the show and how she was instantly taken home and reminded of her personal relationships. “I was my grandmother, I was reading my mother, I was reading the relationship between me and my mother…and it completely made sense, and it was funny.”
Actor Luke Kirby talked about his character in “The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, “Lenny Bruce,” and shared how he knew a lot about the real-life comedian and was intrigued by him as a teenager. He also recalled a high school journalism project that he worked on, where he “interviewed” himself as a successful actor. The article outlined all his acting accolades and awards and how he was going to New York to play Lenny Bruce – a manifestation come true. Luke then revealed that during season two of the show, he found the clipping of the article he wrote as his dad had kept it since then, along with other clippings.
When speaking about “The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel” and their takeaways from the show, actress Rachel Brosnahan stated that she was simply proud to be a part of it. “I was 25 when I started it and I was raised by these people.” Actress Alex Borstein discussed the impact of her character “Susie Myerson” and shared her line in the pilot episode, “I don’t mind being alone. I just do not want to be insignificant,” has stuck with her since.
Newcomers to the Amy Sherman-Palladino multiverse, actress Charlotte Gainsbourg and Lou de Laâge of “Étoile” – which also features The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel’s Luke Kirby – shared their gratitude for being a part of Amy’s impressive slate of shows. Charlotte asked Amy how she came up with her character’s name, with Amy joking that she did a Google search of French names. Lou revealed that she didn’t know English when auditioning for the show and became nervous that her ruse would be discovered during her callback. “Etoile” premieres on Prime Video on April 24.
Sherman-Palladino also created the Freeform show “Bunheads,” which ran from 2012 to 2013. The series about young women training to become ballerinas, starred Sutton Foster who shared a special video message to Amy and PaleyFest audience.
