Netflix is going a first look trailer for “Forever,” the upcoming drama that’s Mara Brock Akil’s reimagining of Judy Blume’s groundbreaking 1975 novel, as an epic Black romance story set in the heart of Los Angeles. Coming to Netflix in 2025.
The romantic drama “Forever” follows the epic love story of two Black teens exploring their identities through the awkward and moving journey of being each other’s capital-F Firsts. And the first teaser for the series, which you can watch above, simmers with romantic tension as sparks fly between Keisha (Lovie Simone) and Justin (Michael Cooper Jr.). The young athletes fall hard for each other as they learn just how deeply their first love will affect the rest of their lives, all set against the sun-drenched backdrop of 2018 Los Angeles.
“Forever” stars Lovie Simone and Michael Cooper Jr. as the show’s leads with Karen Pittman, Wood Harris, Xosha Roquemore, Marvin Lawrence Winans III, Barry Shabaka Henley, Ali Gallo, Niles Fitch, Paigion Walker, and E’myri Crutchfield supporting.
Oscar winner Regina King (One Night in Miami, A Man in Full) serves as an executive producer and will direct the first episode.
