For a man who has celebrated many memorable milestones, one would be curious to learn what the Rock N Roll Hall of Famer counted as the best gift he’s ever given and received. TVMusic Network was able to ask Ringo Starr about some of his milestone birthdays and this celebration that he’s been doing since 2008.

“The best present I’ve received is all those people doing [this]. Starr said. “It’s so great. Can you do it?” “My dream is that on one of my birthdays, and it better be soon, is The whole world will go peace and love. Everybody on it. That would be great, wouldn’t it?”

And what is the best present he’s ever given, Starr notes the tradition of getting together to wish for Peace and Love around the world.

“Well, a lot of people are doing it today all over the world, Starr continued. “You know, we now have 40 outlets for peace and love from Australia where it starts, and where does it end? Where does it end? It ends in Hawaii. So, it goes right across the world and then up into space. And we’re also friends with the spacemen. Peace and love up there, brothers.”

Among the ierformers at this year’s Peace & Love Birthday Celebration were several of Starr’s friends and studio players, including Molly Tuttle, Sarah Jarosz, Daniel Tashian, Colin Linden, David Mansfield, Ketch Secor, Jeff Picker, and Gregg Bissonette.

Just before 12 noon, Starr took the stage to thank his friends for their performances. He also thanked fans for coming out.

“You know, I’ve been doing this since 2008, and look at it now,” Starr said. “We’re just in the street in Chicago when we did the first one. And I like to tell the story that there’s about 50 people there. And we it. And who made the cakes? Somebody made little cakes. And we gave them little cakes. And by 10:00 they were on the internet for $1,000. Somebody got a new car. And so anyway, you know, I’m truly grateful that everybody comes out and it’s LA. I love LA. I love the light.”
