2016 ABFF Honors spotlights the best in Black movies and televsion

The American Black Film Festival Honors were recently held in Beverly Hills. The ceremony recognizes the best in movies and television from the previous year.

The event was hosted by Mike Epps, will honor Diahann Carroll with the Hollywood Legacy Award and producer Will Packer with the Distinguished ABFF Alumni Award. 

This year’s nominated movies include “Straight Outta Compton,” “Creed,” “Beasts of No Nation,” “Dope” and “Concussion.”

On the television side, the nominated shows are “Being Mary Jane,” “black-ish,” “Empire,” “How To Get Away With Murder”  and “Power”
