The 2012 Independent Spirit Awards were held this weekend in Los Angeles. The setting, on the beach in Santa Monica was a much more laid back setting than the Oscars ceremony in Hollywood the next day. Just like the Oscars though, the silent film “The Artist” was the event’s big winner, taking home a number of awards including Best Feature.
