'Total Blackout': new episodes air on Syfy beginning October 30

Hosted by Jaleel White (“Family Matters”), Syfy’s highest-rated new program of 2012 returns with new episodes. “Total Blackout” is a half-hour, extreme game show in which contestants battle each other and their fears in a series of challenges played in complete darkness. There are no lights, no blindfolds and no-holds barred as the players must face their anxieties and overcome unexpected surprises in a series of new and never-before-seen challenges that raise the stakes to new heights.

There are no lights, no blindfolds and it’s no-holds barred as the players face their fears and unexpected surprises in a series of nerve-wracking games.  From smell, touch and taste to even controlling their own motor movements, all the contestants’ senses will be pushed to the ultimate test in “Total Blackout.”

“Total Blackout” is produced by Fremantle Media and was created by Henrik Nielsen (“Can You Duet?,” Danish versions of “The X Factor,” “Got Talent” and “Pop Idol”).  Nielsen and Jeff Apploff (“Million Dollar Money Drop,” “Don’t Forget the Lyrics”) serve as executive producers.  Jack Martin (“Who’s Still Standing,” “Deal or No Deal”) is co-executive producer. 
White is best known for his role as pop culture staple Steve Urkel on the ABC sitcom “Family Matters” and for his time as a contestant on “Dancing With The Stars.” 
“Total Blackout” premieres Tuesdays on Syfy (9-10 p.m. ET) with a preview on October 30 (10-10:30 p.m. ET)
