“Black-ish” is celebrating its 100th episode honoring The Purple One – aka Prince in a special music-themed episode. According to EW, the show worked working closely with the late music icon’s estate to feature some of his biggest hits, including “When Doves Cry,” “Let’s Go Crazy,” and “Kiss.” The episode will air in November.
Prince has a little-known connection to the show. Yara Shahidi (Zoey) grew up around the late music legend. Her father, Afshin Shahidi, was Prince’s longtime photographer.
This isn’t the first time the show has taken a musical theme. The show’s last season premiere featured a Hamilton-inspired episode entitled “Juneteenth.”
“Black-ish” premieres Tuesday, October 16th on ABC.
