The 2019 Academy Awards are this week and no one is more excited than Oscar Nominated actress Marina de Tavira for the movie “Roma.” Directed by Alfonso Cuaron, “Roma” centers on Cleo (Oscar nominee Yalitza Aparicio), a maid working for a middle-class family in Mexico City during the 1970s. De Tavira plays Sofia, the matriarch of the family who comes to increasingly rely on Cleo when her husband leaves.
TVMusic Network caught up with De Tavira at the 2019 Movies For Grownups Awards where the actress talked about her role and awards season so far.
“Roma” is nominated for seven Academy Awards including Best Picture and Best Director for Alfonso Cuaron.
