‘The Young and the Restless’: Peter Bergman celebrates 30 years with special Jack Abbott episode

Actor Peter Bergman has been playing Jack Abbott on CBS’s “The Young and the Restless” for 30years. The celebrate the momentous occasion, the Number #1Daytime drama will air a special episode centered around Jack Abbott on Monday, November 25th.

“Jack and his sister [Traci, played by Beth Maitland] have been writing kind of the family chronicle, trying to mark the Abbott family’s history,” said Bergman about the episode in an interview on CBS’s “The Talk.”

“And at the beginning of the show she hands him the book, and Jack spends the entire show remembering 30 years of the show. It’s pretty powerful,” says Bergman. On the Abbott family breakfasts, he shares, “They are that fun. The difficulty when we get taping is not laughing… There have been some food fights.” Adds Bergman,, “From the day I moved to the head of the table, I’m in charge of these people. These people are my keep, the people I look after, and it’s a very personal thing… It’s been an amazing ride.”

The celebrated actor has won three Emmys for his role. He has 21 nominations making him one of the most nominated actors ever.
