Music legend Bill Withers has passed away. |
TVMusic Network remembers Grammy-award winning singer/songwriter Bill Withers who passed away earlier this week. The singer was known for such hits as “Lean On Me,” “Ain’t No Sunshine,” and “Lovely Day” which are classics to his fans around the world.
Statement from Bill Wither’s family:
“We are devastated by the loss of our beloved, devoted husband and father. A solitary man with a heart driven to connect to the world at large, with his poetry and music, he spoke honestly to people and connected them to each other. As private a life as he lived close to intimate family and friends, his music forever belongs to the world. In this difficult time, we pray his music offers comfort and entertainment as fans hold tight to loved ones.”
Withers was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame by good friend Stevie Wonder in 2015. The pair performed together at the 30th annual celebration held in Cleveland where the music museum is located.
