Knott’s Berry Farm’s “Taste of Fall-O-Ween” Event-Review

Knott's Berry Farm

We went to Knott’s Taste of Fall-O-Ween over the weekend down at Knott’s Berry Farm. I had been reading about it for a while so decided to try the Halloween version. We had a great time. They went all out to create this experience for everyone. You are free to roam the entire park, enjoy the Halloween atmosphere and sample themed eats and treats at your leisure. You could wear a costume if you like it is not required. This event is not Spooky Farm or Scary Farm but I thought it was a good Mashup of the 2 allowing the entire family to enjoy the Halloween season. It was $35 for adults, $20 for children which also includes a trip through the Trick-or-Treating trail in Camp Snoopy. If you are a Season Pass holder, you get a discount. The park is open Fridays, Saturdays & Sundays thru November 1st. You must get your tickets online. I see a lot of sold-out dates and I heard that a few dates have been added. I bet this event will sell out and dates closer to Halloween will fill up fast.

The park opened at 12 PM on Sunday. We arrived at 1:30 PM, parked (which was free) and was through security and in the park by 2 PM. We heard that they had limited the park to 25% capacity and masks are required when walking around the park. They give you a tasting card with a laminate so you can wear it around your neck. The card has all the food choices and locations listed. They scan that card and give you your food choice when you get to the booth. If you need extra food you can buy additional items. (average $7.00 per item). We decided to try the Burnt Ends Riblets on Garlic Mashers first. It was listed in Section W which is towards the end of the park. We headed there and it ended up being perfect. Most of the crowd was viewing the front of the park as they arrived. No one was back in the area we went to. We sat at a table big enough for 5 off to the side by itself in the shade. There were three of us. Score!. We decided to make that our base for the day. We took turns getting treats and always had our spot. Since this was a tasting event, there was no need to lose our spot. As for the food, we were surprised by the serving sizes. Some items were much bigger than just a just or small snack. Then they were some items that were smaller, but compatible with park prices. We purchased our soda separately, it came out cheaper than using one of our tasting choices.

We moved locations later to walk the park and take photos. Then we took more photos once it became night time. They announced there was entertainment. We saw a DJ who of course played “Ghostbusters” by Ray Parker Jr, there was an announcer on stage interacting with the crowd and a band who unfortunately appeared by video not live.

The nighttime experience is way different from the daytime one. Lots of fog, lighting and a more dramatic look. Something to consider when deciding when to go or planning your day. I recommend arriving at a time to be there during the day time and night time.

My favorite items were the Riblets, Caramel Turtle Cheesecake and the Boysenberry Sangria. I wished I could have tried more items. We were stuffed by the time we got to the last tasting item, so I took my Deep Fried Cinnamon Roll with Pumpkin icing and sprinkles home and ate it the next day. We stayed until around 7:30 PM then hit a few of the shops on the way out.

I recommend attending if you can get tickets. We had fun, it was nice to be at an amusement park just to relax, catch up and eat. It was a nice outing for my birthday month.
Here are a few photos of some of the food we all tried and photos of the park.
