It was the “The Wizard of Oz” night on “The Masked Singer.” Four new celebrities took the stage to celebrate the iconic movie that rise Judy Garland to superstardom. “The Masked Singer’s” very own Sun, LeAnn Rimes, returns to the stage to sing her rendition of “Somewhere Over The Rainbow.”
The Group B Premiere: The Wizard of Oz Night episode of “The Masked Singer” had celebrity panelists taking a nod to the
85th Anniversary “The Wizard of Oz Episode” — with Robin the Wizard, Ken the Lion, Jenny the Good Witch, Rita as Dorothy, and host Nick Cannon as the Tin Man.
Competeing in Group B was Gumball, Cleocattra, Afghan Hound, and a duo The Beets.
For Gumball, the clues and guesses were The Tin Man, he’s from the Souyth, there were drums or was in a band and a charriot. He also said he was a super hero. Rita Ora guessed Chase Crawford, Robin Thicke said Kevin Jonas of The Jonas Brothers and Ken Jeong said Jamie Dorman.
Cleocattra performed next. She said that she recovered from an accident while on vacation, she showed an hourglass, Bel-Air and a Black Crow. She said she was on an Emmy-winning show.
She sang “Stormy Weather” by Lena Horne. Based on the clues: Robin guessed Loretta Devine, Rita said Sheryl Lee Ralph and Ken said Taraji P. Henson.
Afghan Hound was the next performer up. For clues they showed a laundry line of clothes, a tooth necklace, a field of flowers, a TV remote, Family theme, House key ring and lastly a rainbow. For her song, she sang “The Lion Sleeps Tonight.”
Rita guessed one of Sylvester Stallone’s daughters Sistine Stallone from “The Family Stallone,” Ken said Olivia Jade and Jenny guessed Brooke Hogan. Another guess was Bethany Frankel.
Last up was The Beets (a duo that was dressed as the vegetable). They sang “Home” by Michael Buble’. They were very good singers which could be a clue that they are part of a musical group or a duo.
Clues were they were best friends and co-stars, they have sold 40 million hits or had 40 million views, people try to pit them against each other but it doesn’t work, and that they were trying to get back to their roots.
Rita guessed Will Arnet and Jason Bateman from “Arrested Development,” Robin guessed Steve Martin and Martin Short, while Ken had his most ridiculous guess to date – K.C.I. and Jojo from Jodeci.
At the end of the night, Afghan Hound was eliminated and unmasked. The Hound turned out to be reality star Savannah Chrisley from “Chrisley Knows Best.”
