The 77th Golden Globes Awards were held over the weekend in Beverly Hills by the Hollywood Foreign Press Association (HFPA). The World War I drama “1917” was the night’s big winner with Globes for Best Director Sam Mendes and Best Picture Drama.
Quentin Tarantino’s “Once Upon A Time in Hollywood” had a great night as well, taking home multiple awards for Best Picture Comedy, Best Supporting Actor for Brad Pittt and Best Screenplay for Tarantino.
On the television side, HBO’s Succession took home awards for Best Show Drama and Best Actor for Brian Cox while Phoebe Waller-Bridge took home awards for her Amazon Comedy “Fleabag” and Best Actress for the title role.
Tom Hanks and Ellen Degeneres received special awards tonight with Hanks receiving the Cecil B. DeMille Award and the second-ever Carol Burnett Television Award.
