David Archuleta is dropping new music, releasing his latest single “Love for Free.” He also released another track along with the single, “Better Than You.”
Fans can stream both “Love for Free” and” Better Than You” on all major platforms when it drops this week.
Of “Love for Free,” Archuleta said, “Love For Free” is about knowing your worth, not dealing with games anymore and setting boundaries. You learn and grow, and this is blossoming into someone who realizes they’re not messing with other people unless it’s time well spent and with people who have the right intentions and value you as a person. While “Better Than You” is a song about reminiscing. Nostalgia of a beautiful time that once was. It’s also acknowledging the delusional way of seeing someone, only highlighting the brighter days and moments, and not the ugly side and toxic dynamic that may have existed. You still can’t help but miss whatever it was. Even if it isn’t true how you see it in your head vs how it actually was.”

“Love For Free” LYRICS
Written by David Archuleta, Jackson Chant and Tyler Redman
INTRO
(Free, Free)
VERSE 1
I run expensive
I give it all if I know that you can spend it
I need intentions
I need it all if you’re coming back for,
oh you’re back for seconds
PRECHORUS
It’’s only me, don’t need nobody to agree
You wanna act like I’m not used to luxury
And there’s a price tag on all of my energy
You can have my love
But you can’t have my love for
CHORUS 1
free
If you cant keep up, its not for
me
(You can have my love)
VERSE 2
Can’t lie I’m sick of the mind games
Always tryna come around when it’s too late
Keep seeing red flags on your face
Oh shit, here we go on my birthday
How bout you stay in your own lane
Watch me get away in a Mustang
Not really tryna wait on a heartbreak
I want space, I can’t lie
It’’s only me, don’t need nobody to agree
You wanna act like I’m not used to luxury
And there’s a price tag on all of my energy
You can have my love
But you can’t have my love for
CHORUS 2
free (you can have my love)
If you cant keep up, its not for
me
You can have my love
But you can’t have my love for
BRIDGE
I know you’re dying
To have a piece of this
No use in lying
If you can’t handle it
Don’t start you’re crying
Save your tears for someone else instead
‘cause my love (my love)
You can have my love
But you can’t have my love for
CHORUS 3
free
(you can have my love)
If you cant keep up, its not for
me
You can have my love
But you can’t have my love for
I know you’re dying
To have a piece of this
No use in lying
( not for me, not for me)
And there’s a price tag on all of my energy
You can have my love
But you can’t have my love for
(Free, yeah)
“Better Than You” – Lyrics
Written by David Archuleta, Jackson Chant, Tyler Redman and Salma Sally Schaar
INTRO
VERSE 1
Still thinking about you
Still wanderin’ around the house, I
I wonder if you do that too
I wonder if you do that. Would it
Kill me like the last time?
If I drown me in the mess of your blue eyes?
I wanna know you feel that too
(I’m wonderin’ do you feel that too)
PRECHORUS 1
I dont wanna have to admit that
Letting you go, it aint easy
And I know that I wont, ‘cause
CHORUS 1
Nothing is better than you
Don’t even care if it’s true
You’re jumping, I’m jumping too
I don’t wanna have to have it but this habit’s got me calling back
(Ooo)
Nothing is better than you
I dont want anything new
I don’t wanna have to have it but this habit’s got me calling back
VERSE 2
Back to your voice when you said I was
Your only boy and the one you loved
You made it sound so sweet
Yea you know how to do that to me
It’s in the now, now (like how you breathe)
Into my mouth, now you’re in my memories
And I try to find somebody new (but damn)
CHORUS 2
Nothing is better than you
Don’t even care if it’s true
You’re jumping, I’m jumping too
I don’t wanna have to have it but this habit’s got me calling back
(Ooo)
Nothing is better than you
I dont want anything new
I don’t wanna have to have it but this habit’s got me calling back
TURNAROUND / BRIDGE
This habit is calling me back (Calling me back)
Oh, yeah
I know the memories are vices
I try to keep it undecided
The truth is I can’t fight it (no)
CHORUS 3
Dont even care if it’s true
I’m jumping too
I don’t wanna have to have it but this habit’s got me calling back
(Ooo)
Nothing is better than you
I dont want anything new
I don’t wanna have to have it but this habit’s got me calling back
OUTRO
This habit is calling me back, calling me back
Habit is calling me back (yeah)
I don’t wanna have to have it but this habit’s got me calling back
