'Coverts Affairs,' 'Burn Notice,' 'Psych' — all head to Comic-Con 2011

Cable network USA has announced their television panels for this years Comic-Con. This marks the third year in a row that USA shows have participated in order to promote their shows which begin airing this summer.

The casts and creative teams of “Covert Affairs,”, “Burn Notice,” and “Psych” will be onhand for panel discussions and to participate in a moderated Q&A sessions. The panels help kick off the sold out 4-day event on Thursday, July 21, 2011.

Heading into its second season, the entire cast of “Covert Affairs” is expected to attend, including sereis stars Piper Perabo, Christopher Gorham and Peter Gallagher. The show centers around a young CIA operative whose exceptional linguistic skills make her invaluable to the Agency’s world-wide missions.

Joining the cast at the panel are the shows creative team including executive producers by Doug Liman, David Bartis, Matt Corman and Chris Ord.

USA’s long running “Psych” is returing to Comic-Con in a panel moderated by guest Kurt Fuller, known to fans as “Woody The Coroner.” The entire main cast will take part in the panel including James Roday, who stars as Shawn Spencer, solving crimes for the Santa Barbara police department in his own special way; Dule Hill who stars as Shawn’s best friend and reluctant sidekick Gus; Corbin Bernsen as Shawn’s disapproving father; and Maggie Lawson and Timothy Omundson who play the police detectives O’Hara and Lassiter who unwillingly rely on Shawn’s psychic skills, along with the police chief Vick played by Kirsten Nelson.

Joining the panel will be creator and executive producer Steve Franks and executive producers Chris Henke and Kelly Kulchak.

“Psych” returns for its sixth season on USA this Fall.

Also returning to Comic-Con is convention panel favorite, “Burn Notice” with Bruce Campbell. Campbell along with executive producer Matt Nix withhead a panel to recap the series’ signature movie, “Burn Notice: The Fall of Sam Axe.”

The prequel movie to the USA series takes place in Columbia 2005 when Lieutenant Commander Sam Axe (Campbell) is sent to advise a local military platoon.

The two-hour movie was directed by “Burn Notice” star Jeffrey Donovan. Matt Nix, Donovan and Campbell also serve as executive producers.
