Interview: chatting with director Robert Townsend at BFCA's Black Cinema Event (Video)

The Broadcast Film Critics Association (BFCA) celebrated the historic year in Black Cinema with a star-studded event at the House of Blues last month in Los Angeles. The evening, which included a special performance by Darlene Love, Merry Clayton, Lisa Fischer and Judith Hill from the critically-acclaimed documentary “20 Feet From Stardom,” was attended by many of Hollywood’s prominent figures in Black Cinema, including actor and director Robert Townsend.
