'The Voice': Coldplay's Chris Martin named advisor for round two of battle rounds

The Voice” is adding a little more star power to its musical lineup. The show has hired Coldplay frontman Chris Martin as the key adviser for the current season. Martin will serve as a mentor for the contestants during the second phase of the battle rounds.

The new format called The Battles: Round Two will begin Monday, March 31 and will see the contestants  artists from each team signing against each other. Both artists will sing for their coach’s approval in hopes of moving forward to the Playoff Rounds.

Martin advised each of the performers on vocal techniques, stage presence and the importance of tailoring songs to fit their persona and strengths. Each coach will have the opportunity to strategically steal one more artist in this round.

The Live shows begin Monday, April 21 with the live finale shows during the week of May 20th.
