Actress, author and pop culture icon Carrie Fisherdied last week from complications following a heart attack. The news came as a shock.  Fisher, who was 60, was known to the world as Princess Leia from the “Star Wars” movies.

“Carrie Fisher was one of a kind, a true character who shared her talent and her truth with us, all with her trademark wit and irreverence. Disney’s chairman and chief executive officer Bob Iger said in a statement. “Millions fell in love with her as the indomitable Princess Leia; she will always have a special place in the hears of STAR WARS fans, as well as all of us who were lucky enough to know her personally. She will be sorely missed, and we join millions of fans and friends around the world who mourn her loss today.”

Fisher appeared in “Star Wars: The Force Awakens” released last year and has a brief cameo in “Rogue One: A Star Wars Story” which is currently in theaters.

Fisher is survived by her daughter Billie Lourd and siblings Todd Fisher, Joely Fisher and Tricia Leigh Fisher.

Sadly, Fisher’s mother, screen legend, Debbie Reynolds, passed away just one day after her daughter. Reynolds starred in the classic movie, “Singin’ In The Rain.”
