ABC cancels ‘The Chew’, ‘Good Morning America’ to expand to three hours

ABC is saying goodbye to “The Chew.” The daytime cooking show, which replaced the long-running drama series, “All My Children” in 2011,  will cease production at the end of this season but will continue to air as planned until September with all-new episodes airing in June. The show featured co-hosts Michael Symon, Carla Hall, Clinton Kelly.  and the entire cast and crew for their great work and amazing run.”

ABC News’ Emmy Award-winning morning show, “Good Morning America,” will expand to three hours. The new third hour of the program will air at 1 p.m. EDT, noon CDT/PDT. Who will host the third hour has yet to be named.

“Over the past six years ‘Good Morning America’ has solidified its place as America’s No. 1 morning show,” said Ben Sherwood, co-chairman, Disney Media Networks, and president, Disney|ABC Television. “We believe there is great opportunity for viewers and advertisers in expanding to a third hour.”

 “GMA,” anchor team is Robin Roberts, George Stephanopoulos, Michael Strahan and chief meteorologist Ginger Zee.
