“Dynasty” is getting a big casting change. Fresh off of Nicolette Sheridan joining the cast of the reboot of the classic show comes the news that Ana Brenda Contreras is joining the show as “the real Cristal.” Yes, you heard that right.
Contreras will replace Nathalie Kelley as “the real Cristal Flores.” In a twist that can only happen on a soap, The Carrington Family will learn that Cristal has stolen “the Real Cristal’s identity” when the show returns for Season 2 on October 12th at 8:00 p.m. ET/PT on The CW.
Kelley spilled the beans about her characters fate when in an interview earlier this summer. The recasting with a twist was revealed during The CW portion of TCA.
At the end of Season 1, the Carrington barn went up in flames when an unknown assailant lit it on fire. Everyone is scrambling to get out. At the end of the episode, Blake, Fallon and Sammy Jo had escaped the fire. There was no sign of Cristal, Alexis or Michael who went in to save the women.
Based on the ’80s primetime soap, the drama centers on the wealthy Carrington family and the energy empire they must defend against the Colbys and other adversaries. The cast includes Grant Show, Alan Dale, Elizabeth Gillies, James Mackay, Sam Adegoke, Robert Christopher Riley, Rafael de la Fuente, Brianna Brown, Nicolette Sheridan and Nick Wechsler.
