Damon Wayans announces ‘Lethal Weapon’ Exit

“Lethal Weapon” star Damon Wayans says he’s leaving the Fox series. Watch the video below. The actor gave an interview to EURweb during a set visit where he announced his exit. 

“I’m going to be quitting the show in December after we finish the initial 13,” Wayans said in the video interview which can be seen below. “So I really don’t know what they’re planning, but that’s what I’m planning. I’m a 58-year-old diabetic and I’m working 16-hour days.”

FOX had given a 13 episode order for Season 3 after behind the scenes production problems with Wayans co-star Clayne Crawford led to his firing and Sean Williams Scott cast as Crawford’s replacement. 

Wayans will pursue other opportunities but the actor already has a recurring gig lined up. He will guest star on his son Damon Wayans Jr’s CBS Monday night comedy “Happy Together” as who else, Jr’s character’s Jake’s father. “Lethal Weapon” airs Tuesdays on FOX.
