Golden Globes 2019: ‘Shoplifters’ Nominated For Best Foreign Film

“Shoplifters” was among the list of Best Foreign Language Film by the Hollywood Foreign Press Association. 

The movie’s director Hirokazu Kore-eda reacted to the news of the nomination. 

“Thanks to many people’s help, Shoplifters has spread its wings farther and farther since the Cannes Film Festival in May. As it is my first nomination for Golden Globe Awards, I am looking forward to being a part of this new experience. My thanks to the Hollywood Foreign Press.” The movie won the Palme d’Or at the 2018 Cannes International Film Festival.

The Golden Globe Awards, hosted by Sandra Oh and Andy Samberg, will broadcast live on Sunday, January 6 at 8:00 p.m.ET/5:00 p.m. PT.
