Tamron Hall‘s new talk show debuts today and no one happier than the new mother and journalist herself.  “Tamron Hall” will be a daily destination for all things topical and a platform for viewers to connect with the people who are shaping our world through meaningful, engaging, and entertaining conversations. As a new mom, a newlywed, and a survivor who is proving you can accomplish anything at any age, Tamron Hall brings a refreshing, relatable, unpredictable, and unstoppable voice to television.

Set to broadcast from New York City featuring a dynamic mix of live and taped shows, “Tamron Hall” will premiere across the country in national syndication on Monday, September 9.

Co-executive produced by Hall along with “The View” mastermind, Bill Gedde, and Talia Parkinson-Jones of “The Wendy Williams Show,”  Hall hopes to have a traditional talk show along the lines of Oprah Winfrey, Mike Douglas and Phil Donahue.

” I am a student of “Mike Douglas,” Hall told critics at the ABC portion of the Television Critics Press Tour last month.  “When I walked into Disney and showed them my dream clips, it was when John and Yoko filled in and they hosted “Mike Douglas.”  It was [Muhammad] Ali on with Sly Stone, and they’re arguing with this congressman over some of the same things we talk about today, and then the next thing you know, they break out into fun.  So, for me, it was that traditional energy of talk that we now associate with so many other names, from Phil Donahue to Oprah to Rolonda Watts, who was on for four seasons.  She left daytime talk; it didn’t leave her.  We were having lunch and ran into Ricki Lake.  It’s Jenny.  I lived in Chicago, the home of talk.  So, for me, it was just a natural, layered experience in creating this and what we saw as the opening.”

Tamron Hall will tape five days a week and set in New York and will tape three live shows, two taped shows.  It will be a show that’s centered around in-depth conversations about a variety of topics. Whether it’s dissecting the latest fashion trends or tackling today’s toughest parenting and marital struggles, nothing is off the table.

“So, for me, I was lucky enough on this crazy journey to meet these two people, but they created some of the best TV you’ll ever watch.  But I tell people all the time, Michael Jordan was the best basketball player to ever play, but we still love basketball.  The two greats are Phil Donahue and Oprah Winfrey, for me.  But guess what we still do?  We still talk.  It didn’t go out of style because they stepped away.  So we’re simply getting on the field, we’re playing the sport that still exists, and we’re just going to do our best, because every day, some kid says, “I can get out on a court, and I can do it too.”  And I just happen to be that person who says, “Listen, talk is not fashion.  It doesn’t go in and out.”
