The ninth episode in the Skywalker Saga, “Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker” has surpassed the $1 billion threshold at the global box office since its December 20th USA release.

The series starred Daisy Ridley, Adam Driver, Carrie Fisher, John Boyega, Oscar Issac and Mark Hamill.

Its $1.001 billion global cumulative total is comprised of $481.3 million domestic and $519.7 million international. This film is now the fifth Star Wars film to reach this milestone, as well as Disney’s seventh billion-dollar release of 2019.

“Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker” opened on December 18 internationally and December 20 domestically to a $376.2 million global debut. Its $177.4 million domestic opening was the 12th biggest of all time, while internationally the film debuted with $198.8 million and was the No. 1 western film in nearly all markets.
