‘American Idol’ Names Top 5 Contestants

American Idol” is back with a live coast-to-coast episode with the theme of Coldplay Songbook & Mother’s Day Dedication. The top seven contestants performed two songs each on Sunday, May 9 on ABC. In this show, the remaining finalists performed songs dedicated to the special loved ones in their lives in honor of Mother’s Day and a second song from the Coldplay songbook, mentored by the band’s lead singer, Chris Martin. Coldplay also performed their new single, “Higher Power,” in a worldwide exclusive performance. Voting started at the beginning of the episode and the top five finalists were revealed at the end of the episode. The song choice of the contestants included:

Willie Spence – Yellow by Coldplay

Willie Spence – You Are So Beautiful by Joe Cocker
