New Edition Announces 30-City ‘Legacy’ Tour with Keith Sweat and GUY

New Edition is going on tour with Keith Sweat, GUY and Tank.

The group will embark on The Legacy Tour beginning March in Columbus, South Carolina. The 30-city tour — which includes stops in Los Angeles, New York, Houston and is set to conclude on April 30 in Tampa, Florida.

Tickets will be available for purchase this week.

New Edition includes members Ronnie DeVoe, Bobby Brown, Ricky Bell, Michael Bivins, Ralph Tresvant and Johnny Gill. The band wrapped up the sold out Culture Tour earlier this year.

The tour also includes Keith Sweat and GUY and Tank. The line up of GUY is Teddy Riley, Aaron Hall and Damion Hall.

In 1983, New Edition released their debut single Candy Girl off their self-titled album, hitting No.1 on the Billboard Hot Black Single Charts, jumping ahead of Michael Jackson’s Beat It. Since then, New Edition has released more than six studio albums, received multiple Soul Train and American Music Awards, and a Grammy Award nomination. In 2017, BET Network released their three-part Biopic: The New Edition Story, airing over three consecutive nights. The mini-series attracted 29 million total viewers. That same year, the network honored them with the BET Lifetime Achievement Award, recognizing the group as one of the innovators of R&B. They have remained one of the most influential R&B groups of the last 30 years and counting, catapulting the solo careers of Bobby Brown, Johnny Gill, and Ralph Tresvant, and Bell Biv DeVoe.

Keith Sweat is one of today’s biggest R&B artists. After six #1 R&B albums, 15 top ten hits and 15 albums with sales of over 13.5 million. Keith Sweat is a Harlem-born singer/songwriter who has dominated the chart with his 1987 triple-platinum debut “Make It Last Forever.” The album sold over three million copies, spawning the hits “I Want Her”, “Something Just Ain’t Right”, “Make It Last Forever”, “Don’t Stop Your Love”, I’ll Give All My Love to You, “Make You Sweat” “Merry Go Round” , “I’ll Give All My Love to You”,

Guy hit the music scene in 1988 with a self-titled album that included the hits “Groove Me,” “Teddy’s Jam,” “Piece Of My Love,” “Spend The Night” and “I Like.” “Groove Me,” “Teddy’s Jam,” Wanna Get With U,” “Teddy’s Jam 2,” “D-O-G Me Out,” and “Let’s Chill.”

The album charted for 73 weeks, five at #1 R&B, Guy was certified double platinum. The group hit #1, billed as Teddy Riley featuring Guy, with the Motown-released “My Fantasy,” a highlight of the soundtrack to Spike Lee’s acclaimed 1989 film Do The Right Thing.
