TVMusic Network remembers the Best, Tina Turner. The Rock and Roll icon has died at the age of 83.

“Tina Turner, the ‘Queen of Rock & Roll’ has died peacefully today at the age of 83 after a long illness in her home in Küsnacht near Zurich, Switzerland,” her family said in a statement Wednesday. “With her, the world loses a music legend and a role model.”

Born Anna Mae Bullock, Turner’s success in music is unparalleled and she is one of the best live performers of all time.

Turner had many memorable hits such as “Proud Mary,” “Nutbush City Limits,” “River Deep, Mountain High,” “What’s Love Got to Do with It,” “We Don’t Need Another Hero,” “Private Dancer,” “The Best,” “Better Be Good to Me,” and “Let’s Stay Together.”

HBO released a documentary titled “Tina” in 2021. The film highlighted Turner’s life and career.

Turner won eight Grammys for “What’s Love Got to Do with It,” and her album “Private Dancer.” She was inducted into the Rock ’n’ Roll Hall of Fame twice, as a solo artist and as part of her initial act Ike & Tina Turner.
