Prolific songwriter Ed Sheeran wrote a song called “A Beautiful Game” that was used on the season finale of “Ted Lasso: Season 3”.
In the episode entitled, “So Long, Farewell,” Ted and the team play their final match of the season.

The song was released and featured on the series finale directed by Declan Lowney on May 31, 2023.
The track was written by Ed Sheeran, Foy Vance, and Max Martin. Produced by Max Martin and Oscar Görres.

Ed Sheeran shared on social media, “So about a year and a bit ago I was asked to do the song for the final episode of Ted Lasso” which aires tonight. I recorded bits of it whilst on tour using crowds from the stadiums that I’ve been playing, and I’m super, super, super proud of it. I love the show. I’ve loved working on this song. I hope you enjoy it – just a bit of fun. Football!”
“Ted Lasso” is based on a character that American actor Jason Sudeikis first portrayed in a series of promotional media for NBC Sports’ coverage of England’s Premier League.
“Ted Lasso: Season 3” premiered on March 15, 2023.
