Ryan Murphy has announced the main cast for his upcoming Netflix anthology series, “Monsters: The Lyle and Erik Menendez Story.” Deadline is reporting the series is the next Monsters anthology to Netflix’s huge hit, “Monster: The Dahmer Story.” Nicholas Alexander Chavez will play Lyle Menendez and Cooper Koch will play his brother Erik.

The limited series will center on the true story of the brothers who murdered their parents Jose and Mary Louise “Kitty” Menendez in 1996.
The two confessed to the murders and claimed their parents subjected them to emotional, physical, and sexual abuse, which led to the brothers killing them. It is not known how much of the brothers’ lives will be a documentary in which filmmakers will have access to the two.

Emmy winner Chavez, currently portrays Spencer Cassadine on “General Hospital” on ABC. He also starred in the movie “Crushed” on Tubi. Koch has appeared in Season 1 of “Power Book II: Ghost and in movies “Swallowed” and “They/Them”.

Shooting will take place in Los Angeles, tentatively in September 2023.
