“General Hospital” took home the top prize for Outstanding Drama Series at the Daytime Emmy Awards on Friday Night. The show also landed a host of creative awards during Saturday’s ceremony including Directing Team, Casting,
“General Hospital” also won four Emmys for acting at the Daytime Emmy Awards on Friday night.
The late Sonya Eddy won the supporting actress trophy for her 16-year role as no-nonsense head nurse Epiphany Johnson on the show which celebrates their 60th anniversary with a primetime special on January 4. Eddy’s leading man, Robert Gossett, also picked up a win for supporting actor for his role as Marshall Ashford.
Eden McCoy won for outstanding younger performer as Josslyn Jacks on “General Hospital.”
Soap veteran Alley Mills also picked up a trophy for her guest starring role as Heather Webber on “General Hospital.” “The Wonder Years” alum pulls double-duty on daytime playing Pam Douglas on the CBS drama “The Bold and the Beautiful.”
After the show “General’s Hospital’s” executive producer Frank Valentini met with the press backstage to talk about the win.
“General Hospital” airs weekdays on ABC.
