What was Great
The animation has improved greatly since the first movie, as the movie’s producers highlighted with the creation of the character of Blaze (Mykal-Michelle Harris), a child who lives in the home of Jessie’s first owner. Blaze has natural curly hair, something that wasn’t possible when the first movie returns.

Jessie takes the lead in this movie and we see where her return to the house of Emily, her first toy owner. Along the way she meets new toys of the house. Despite their different levels of skill, the toys all work together to help Bonnie make friends outside outside of her Lilypad. That friend turns out to be Blaze, a girl who still plays with her non-tech toys. Along the way, Jessie learns her first kid, Emily, remembered her.
Taylor Swift wrote and performed the title song that is a love letter for Jessie, her original owner and Bonnie. If fits the movie perfectly.
What Could be Better
The rich supporting cast of Andy’s original toys pretty much are forgotten in Bonnie’s room and also in the movie. It would have been nice to see what they were doing while Buzz, Woody, and Jessie were out saving Bonnie.
The Buzz Lightyear story is a little weird. His original model has been updated and able to turn into drones. A shipment of lost Buzz toys travel from their marooned island location and end up meeting the gang at Blaze’s.
From there, the Buzz toys end up saving the day. They are essential in the race to save Lilypad from an accidental donation before she can help Bonnie have a playdate with Blaze.
