The 75th Primetime Emmy Awards honored the history of television where viewers remembered their favorite shows. The show was hosted by Anthony Anderson with an assist from his mother Doris. There was a lot of nostalgia at the Peacock Theater with some of the casts from popular shows such as “It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia,” “Martin,” “Cheers,” “Two and a Half Men,” Arsenio Hall, “All in the Family” and “Ally McBeal” among others to present.

This year saw a record number of wins for women and people of color. The Netflix limited series movie “Beef” starring Ali Wong and Steven Yeun had impressive five Emmy wins for Best Actress, Best Actor, Writing, Directing, and Best Limited Series.

“The Last of Us,” “Succession” and “The Bear” were also big winners tonight with eight trophies for “The Last of Us” and six Emmys each for for the comedy and drama series.

Quinta Brunson (Abbott Elementary), Ayo Edebiri (The Bear), Niecy Nash Betts (Dahmer-Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story), Storm Reid (The Last of Us), Keke Palmer (Password), and Jasmine Guy (The Chronicles of Jessica Wu) all received Emmys for their work. Brunson became the first Black woman to win an Emmy for Lead Actress since “The Jeffersons” actress Isabel Sanford in 1981.
